The UK tax authority, HM Revenue and Customs, has announced that it is working to fix problems which have prevented it from receiving information contained in trust tax returns delivered online.
The department has announced that HMRC Trusts are having “some serious problems with information not coming through” from online forms. This information mainly concerns section 9 of the return and the details on the supplementary capital gains and foreign pages.
“HM Revenue & Customs is very sorry that these problems have occurred and is doing its best, working closely with the information technology and data management partners, to fix them as soon as possible,” the department stated.
The latest position is that HMRC hopes to fix the majority of these problems in the next four weeks.
“There is no need to contact HMRC at this stage if you have already made your online return for 2008-09,” the department informed. “HMRC is expecting that all of the information that you sent on that return will be available to HMRC Trusts once the problems are fixed.”
