Hong Kong's total goods export volume fell 4.6% in June on the same month last year, while the goods import volume dropped 2.8%, the Census & Statistics Department announced on Monday.
Taken separately, the re-exports volume decreased 3.6% and the domestic export volume dropped 24.9%.
The month saw the price of goods re-exports rise 4.6% and that of domestic exports increase 5.5%. Total goods export prices rose 4.6%, and import prices grew 5.7%.
Comparing this year's first six months with the same period last year, the volume of Hong Kong's goods re-exports rose 8% while domestic exports dropped 13.3%. The total goods export volume grew 7.1% while the goods import volume increased 7.5%.
The period saw the price of goods re-exports rise 3.3%, and those of domestic exports grow 4.2%. Total goods export prices grew 3.3% while import prices rose 4.3%, the Department concluded.
