HBOS, the UK's largest savings provider, has launched Halifax International to provide simple offshore savings to British expatriates through internet and telephone banking, it announced this week.
Halifax International will offer savings accounts in sterling, euros or dollars which are specifically designed to meet the needs of British expatriates who are resident abroad.
Customers will initially be able to choose from two accounts - the Web Saver and Regular Saver, both of which can be opened via the phone or online.
Commenting on the launch of Halifax International, James Gairdner, head of Offshore Banking, stated that:
"We aim to make offshore savings really simple whilst offering market leading rates to expatriates who live outside the UK. As the UK's largest savings provider, expatriates living abroad can be reassured that they can continue saving at a great rate with a household name they know and trust."
