Guernsey has amended section 75C of the Income Tax (Guernsey) Law, 1975, providing legislative amendments for the ratification of the tax information exchange agreement between the States of Guernsey and the government of the United Kingdom.
The agreement for the exchange of information relating to tax matters was signed in London on January 20, 2009. Guernsey’s government has this week announced the planned ratification of the agreement, in the Income Tax (Guernsey) (Approval of Agreement with United Kingdom) Ordinance, 2009.
The Ordinance is expected to be approved by the government and to enter into force on March 25, 2009.
