Guernsey Appoints New Registrar Of Companies

The Guernsey government has announced the appointment of Alan Bougourd as Registrar of Companies. Bogourd will be responsible for the Guernsey Registry, a key role in the financial services industry.

Welcoming Bougourd's appointment, Deputy Carla McNulty Bauer, Guernsey's Minister for the Commerce and Employment Department, said: “I am delighted that Alan has decided to take on the role of Registrar of Companies in Guernsey, a vital post for Guernsey’s economy. I have known Alan for many years through his involvement in the Association of Guernsey Banks and more recently as Deputy Chairman of the Guernsey International Business Association. Alan is a well respected and experienced member of the financial services industry and he will be a tremendous asset to the Registry and to the States of Guernsey. I look forward to Alan joining the team where I am certain his contribution will be invaluable.”

Bougourd, for his part, added: “I am looking forward to working with the Guernsey Registry team and to engaging with the local and international business communities to ensure that the offering continues to meet their current requirements and is further developed in support of the Guernsey economy.”

Bougourd is currently the Managing Director of Skipton International. He has served on the executive committees of a number of industry associations including Chairman of the Association of Guernsey Banks and Deputy Chairman of the Guernsey International Business Association, and has also been Chairman of the Office of Utility Regulation Audit Risk and Remuneration Committee, a member of the Finance Sector Group, a non-executive director of Guernsey Finance LBG and is currently a trustee of the Guernsey Training Agency. Bougourd is Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries, a Member of the Institute of Directors and Chartered Director.
