GuernseyFinance, the promotional agency for the island’s finance industry, on Thursday welcomed the recent expansion of three of the Island's law firms.
The Carey Group has established Carey S.A., a corporate domiciliation and administration
business that will be managed and operated by experienced multi lingual professional
staff familiar with the establishment and administration of Luxembourg companies
and other forms of holding companies.
Ozannes has announced that in the spring it will add a litigation practice to
its Jersey operation that opened last September with the establishment of a
corporate practice.
Meanwhile, the Ogier group has completed its merger with WSmiths to create a new offshore group providing legal and fiduciary services in nine financial service centres around the world: Guernsey, Jersey, London, Ireland, BVI, the Cayman Islands, Uruguay, Hong Kong and New Zealand.
“These developments illustrate the international outlook of these Guernsey legal firms and their desire not to rest on their laurels but be proactive in capturing the available business opportunities,” observed Peter Niven, Chief Executive of GuernseyFinance.
He added:
“This is yet further evidence of the entrepreneurial flair that is the island’s hallmark.”
