The Gibraltar government has signed a contract for the construction of Gibraltar’s new air terminal, and related facilities in Gibraltar.
The contractor has been named as Dragados SA, who won the tender conducted in accordance with the applicable EU tender procedures.
The contract, signed on 7th July, extends to the construction of the new air terminal and related roads and buildings including a section of new road between the frontier crossing and the commercial gate, airfield apron and aircraft parking works, new cargo handling facilities, airport vehicles building, new customs facilities both for the airport and for the commercial land frontier crossing.
The contract sum is EUR59mn (USD94mn), and the contract provides for completion of all the works by April 2010.
