A complete reform of the tax system is necessary in order to remove existing irregularities and to correct the mistakes of recent tax reforms, thereby guaranteeing increased planning security for the next few years, the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHK-Organisation) has argued.
According to Bernd Rohwer, Chief Executive of IHK Schleswig-Holstein, key requirements of the IHK have already been addressed in the coalition agreement.
However, during the recent joint tax committee meeting between IHK Schleswig-Holstein and IHK Hamburg, tax experts highlighted the need for a lasting reform of Germany’s tax system, and for a simplified, sustainable system that will benefit medium-sized businesses in particular.
The committees agreed to draw up concrete proposals regarding future priorities.
