Regional news reports revealed that as part of the 23rd preparatory meeting of general secretaries at the ministries of commerce of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members, the possibility of creating a unified trademark office was discussed.
Speaking to the AGIP news service prior to the meeting, which took place on Monday and Tuesday, head of the Bahraini delegation and Under-Secretary of Foreign Commerce, Sheikh De'ayyej Bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa revealed that in addition to discussing the possible establishment of a GCC trademark office, the elimination of obstacles to commercial exchange between GCC countries was also likely to come under examination.
In addition, AGIP announced that the issuance of a draft guidance law for e-commerce in the region was considered by the delegates that attended the meeting.
