The Bermudian government is steaming ahead with its E-business initiative, according to the local media.
Reporting last week, the Bermuda Sun newspaper revealed that a Green Paper outlining the government's plans was set to be delivered to the House of Assembly. Tourism, Telecommunications, and E-commerce Minister, Renee Webb explained that:
'There are some recommendations we want to implement as a consequence of the Green Paper being tabled.' She added: 'We are also marketing Bernmuda as an E-business jurisdiction of choice and normally that involves partnering with the Bermuda International Business Association on a number of marketing exercises.'
According to Ms Webb, among the 100 recommendations are suggestions for measures to 'keep Bermuda at the top of the line with respect to information technology and telecommunications and a lot of public and private collaboration and a recommendation to set up a forum on E-business.'
