It was reported this week that French Budget Minister, Dominique Bussereau and Chilean Finance Minister, Nicolas Eyzaguirre Guzman have signed an agreement which includes provisions eliminating double taxation on transactions undertaken between the two countries.
Welcoming the agreement, which is intended to boost bilateral trade, M. Bussereau called its signing "a significant step".
Speaking in Santiago last month, the Chilean Finance Minister predicted strong economic growth for his country over the coming year and in 2005, suggesting that expansion will accelerate as a result of increased output by Chile's industries, even as economic growth slows throughout the rest of the world.
