It was announced on Monday that First Gulf Bank has received the coveted Dubai Quality Award in banking and finance.

The award, which recognises companies based in the United Arab Emirates which have been judged to excel in their field, was accepted by the FGB's Chief Executive Officer, Abdulhamid Saheed, who was clearly delighted that the organisation's efforts to rebrand and modernise had been recognised.

Speaking at the ceremony at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Sunday, he commented: 'Quality is a journey not a destination. This is the result of a quality drive which started two years ago, and helped us establish FGB as a major player in the UAE's financial services industry.'

The FGB recently relaunched its corporate image and opened a new state-of-the-art branch in Dubai in an attempt to cement its position in the UAE's financial services sector.
