On Monday 25 September a high-level delegation including members of Anguilla's Financial Services Department are convening in Hong Kong to promote the island as an attractive offshore jurisdiction and to introduce Anguilla's Commercial On-line Registration Network (ACORN). The presentation is being hosted by the Anguillan government, with the Minister for Finance and Economic Development Mr Victor Banks due to open proceedings. There will be a demonstration of ACORN, plus presentations on e-commerce business solutions in Anguilla and the jurisdiction's legal framework.
ACORN, which first went live in November 1998, is a companies registry system developed in Anguilla with assistance from Companies House in the UK and the British government. It allows licensed company managers and trust companies in Anguilla, together with their approved overseas agents, to incorporate electronically International Business Companies (IBCs), Ordinary Companies, Limited Liability Companies and Limited Partnerships under Anguilla's corporate and partnership legislation.
Using ACORN means companies can be incorporated instantly from anywhere in the world 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. ACORN also enables all other corporate registration activities permitted under the relevant legislation to be undertaken on-line.
Further details of ACORN, plus contact details for those wishing
to attend the Hong Kong presentation, may be found on the Financial
Services Department website at http://www.anguillaoffshore.com.
