Federal Councillor Micheline Calmy-Rey, head of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), is to receive her EU counterpart, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, for a working dinner on 1st June 2008, it was announced ahead of the visit.
During her visit to Switzerland, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, EU Commissioner for Exterior Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy, will be received by Federal Councillor Micheline Calmy-Rey on Sunday afternoon.
In addition to a review of bilateral relations, the talks are expected to address a number of current international issues, including Switzerland's policy on relations with the European Union.
In particular, the head of the FDFA is expected to recall the wish of the Federal Council to stabilise and strengthen the bilateral path, and deepen it in areas where there is a common interest.
