The European Patent Office on Monday unveiled its new online service, known as Register Plus.
According to the EPO, the service is designed to provide a "one-stop shop" for access to bibliographical, procedural, legal status and file information.
The Patent Office explained this week that the free service "will make patent information in the public domain more transparent and easier to access, which in turn will help stimulate innovation in the European economy".
The EPO also pointed out that Register Plus is not restricted to patent professionals, and can be used by any interested party to retrieve the patent information that they need.
