Ethiopia and Sudan signed an agreement for the avoidance of double taxation between the two countries at the Sanaa Forum meeting on December 29.
Ethiopian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Seyoum Mesfin, and Sudanese State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Karti, signed the agreement for their respective countries.
Seyoum said that the agreement would set up a legal framework to promote economic relationships and business partnerships between the two countries.
When the agreement comes into force, thirteen days after the exchange of formal notes of ratification, it will eliminate double taxation on businesses and investors conducting business in the partner country.
