The Canadian arm of the 'Big Five' organisation Ernst & Young is basking in the spotlight this week as London based International Tax Review named them Canada's number one tax advisor for the fifth consecutive year. The annual survey looks at professional services firms and law firms, and thousands of in-house experts and CFO's at international corporations and financial institutions are polled each year.
In the July/August issue of International Financial Review, the Canadian professional service provider took the top position in both tax planning and tax transactions, and was also recognised as leading the field in two of the eight specialist categories - commodity tax and transfer pricing. In the other five categories, Ernst & Young came in at a respectable third place.
The executives in Canada are very excited by this approbation: 'Five years as Canada's number one tax advisor is a tremendous accomplishment for Ernst & Young and a great source of confidence for our clients,' said Michel Lanteigne, Canadian managing partner. Last month (and for the fourth consecutive year), the organisation was also honoured as one of Canada's Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises by the knowledge management research company Teleos.
