Economy Minister Of Moldova To Visit Cyprus

The Minister of Economy and Trade of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, arrives in Cyprus on Monday for a two-day official visit at the invitation of the Cypriot Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Antonis Michaelides.

During his visit, Mr Dodon will continue talks with Mr Michaelides, begun during the latter’s visit to Moldova in June 2007, on strengthening bilateral economic relations and assessing the prospects for their further development.

Mr Dodon will also meet with the Minister of Finance, Michalis Sarris, with whom he will sign the Convention between the Government of the Republic of Cyprus and the Government of the Republic of Moldova for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income.

Dodon will also hold talks with the Chairman of the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation, Andreas Pittas, and the Vice Chairman of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tony Antoniou. On the agenda for discussion will be ways to enhance cooperation between businesspeople from the two countries.

Mr Dodon will depart for Chisinau on Tuesday night.
