The Economic Freedom Network, a world-wide grouping of 50 prestigious economic think-tanks, which includes the UK's Institute of Economic Affairs and the US's Cato Institute, has published its Year 2000 Country Freedom Rankings. The 'Economic Freedom of the World' report, published for the seventh time since 1970, uses quantitative data on 23 scales to rank 123 countries.
Hong Kong and Singapore are joint first, followed by the US, UK and Australia in second place. Lowtax.net has compiled the data for those IOFCs included in the report (which does not cover dependent territories such as Jersey) into the table below.
