Bermuda is making great efforts to establish a complete infrastructure for offshore e-business and is ahead of most of its competitors in the race to be the leading offshore jurisdiction for e-commerce development. Bermuda has long regarded e-commerce as the key to growth and prosperity for the jurisdiction and next month will host a conference focusing on e-commerce issues.
From September 18 to 20, the Fairmont Hamilton Princess will be the location for the second eCC Bermuda conference. Founded in 1999 by Barbara Gaudette, Robin Trimingham and Melanie Burns, the conference is designed for key decision-makers at CEO, CIO, Marketing and Sales Director level across all industries.
Leading names in e-business will speak at the conference, to be opened by the Minister of Telecommunications and E-Commerce, Renee Webb. They will include Patricia Seybold, author of the book Customers.com, and Nick Jones, a Senior Analyst at Jupiter Communications.
A key element of this year's conference is that conference speakers and topics will be based on feedback from business leaders, via their input into a survey, rather than having a pre-set agenda. There will be a pre-conference Trade Show, featuring representatives from sectors including Internet solutions, accounting, banking, law and advertising, who are currently involved in e-business.
The organising sponsors of the conference are the Bermuda International Business Association (BIBA), the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce and Logic Communications. Further details of the conference, including how to register, can be found on the conference website at www.eccbermuda.com.
