Dubai is to play host to the fifth annual Hedge Funds World Middle East 2004 Conference later this week which is expected to draw around 200 leading investment professionals from around the globe.
The event, which is to take place on the 24th and 25th of February will be held in the Dubai International Financial Centre, with Man Investments assuming the role of principal sponsor.
According to Hedge Funds World, there is an estimated US$2 trillion in investable net worth in the Middle Eastern region, only a small portion of which has been invested in hedge funds, highlighting the significant growth potential of this emerging market.
“Hedge funds are increasingly being recognized by both individual and corporate investors as a viable and profitable investment tool over the long term,” observed Antoine Massad, associate director, Middle East and Asia at Man Investments and Chairman of Hedge Funds World Middle East 2004.
“The conference is an ideal platform to bring together industry experts to share their knowledge, interact with peers and be up-to-date on global trends affecting the hedge fund industry. This is proved by the increasing number of delegates and level of interest that the conference has attracted since it first began five years ago,” he added.
