In interviews given to the local media, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates' Defence Minister has denied that the UAE federation is likely to disintegrate as a result of Dubai's success in attracting foreign investment and international businesses.
'Dubai's projects are offered as an example to be followed, and we will be happy when the benefits of these projects are enjoyed by all Arabs,' he said earlier this week.
He added that: 'The Dubai experiment has proven successful, and will not suffer any setbacks. Our country has become an international landmark, and a beacon for those near and far,' citing the forthcoming meeting between the IMF and the World Bank, which will be held in Dubai, as an example of this.
