The Dubai Technology, E-Commerce and Media Free Zones have joined forces with Nicholson International, a global human resource management group, to create a 'talent office' for workers from around the world with the necessary IT knowledge and experience.

The new office will be based in the Dubai Media City where it aims to supply employees to businesses operating within the Media City itself, the Dubai Internet City and the Dubai Ideas Oasis. Nicholson is currently constructing a web-enabled tool that will assist the businesses to find the workers with specific skills that they require. Managing Director Graham Thomas told the Gulf News service that the web site should be ready in about seven weeks.

Chief executive of the Dubai Media City, Saeed Al Muntafiq, said: 'The agreement we have signed with Nicholson is a major step forward in our drive to attract the very best talent to Dubai. This is an important and strategic project that will help safeguard Dubai's position as the leading e-commerce and media hub in the Middle East.'

The Nicholson International office will have facilities such as access to a database, executive search recruitment services and there will be a campaign to promote the Dubai free zones to prospective employees as the ideal place to work.

Saeed Al Muntafiq added: 'The free zone has already attracted world-class companies and now they need world-class people to work with them. The talent office will have a pool of knowledge workers from the UAE as well as around the world.'
