Officials from Dubai and Moscow met on Monday to discuss strengthening investment and economic ties between the United Arab Emirates and Russia, according to government sources.
Qassim Sultan, the Director General of Dubai Municipality, and Valery P. Shantsev, the visiting Vice Mayor of Moscow, discussed ways of strengthening relations between the two cities in particular, and the Russian delegation expressed admiration for the rapid and efficient development that Dubai has undergone over the past few years to become a regional e-commerce and financial hub.
'We held constructive talks on a variety of issues of common interest, including investment in major projects, visits of businessmen to Dubai and Moscow, and organising of trade and cultural exhibitions in both cities,' Mr Shantsev explained after the meeting.
It is not known, however, if any tax incentives to encourage international investment between the two regions were discussed.
