Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland have signed agreements on information exchange in tax matters with St Lucia, Samoa, and the Cook Islands.

The agreements with Samoa and the Cook Islands were signed on December 16 at the Danish Embassy in Canberra, Australia; the agreement with the Caribbean island of St Lucia was signed on December 10 in Copenhagen.

The Nordic Council of Ministers has made efforts to reach tax information exchange agreement with a number of tax havens. Danish Minister for Taxation, Kristian Jensen, on the signing of the three recent agreements, took stock of Denmark’s progress, emphasizing that the country had reached 17 such agreements. Four of these agreements – with the Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey and Bermuda – are now in force. A further agreement is to be signed in early 2010.
