by Ulrika Lomas, for LawAndTax-News.com, Brussels

22 September 2008

It has been announced this week that the Croatian esp@cenet service was officially launched on September 17, 2008.

Amid the hustle and bustle of the region's largest industry fair ARCA, a special ceremony was held to initiate the Croatian version of the well-known web-based patent information service.

The ceremony was attended by Croatian Intellectual Property Office Deputy Director General Ljiljana Kuterovac, who represented Director General Zeljko Topic, IP Academy Head Dr Bojan Benko, and Nigel Clarke of the European Patent Office.

The Croatian esp@cenet database provides internet access to published Croatian patent applications and granted patents absolutely free of cost.

The interface supports search functions, and document retrieval in the Croatian language.
