Credit Suisse Private Banking announced in the run-up to Christmas that it is to expand its investment database, Fund Lab, which will allow investors to buy and sell funds online.
Fund Lab was launched in March 1999, permitting investors to compare the funds offered by Credit Suisse with those offered by competitors, making the funds market much more transparent. The latest innovation, whereby around 830 funds from 32 different fund management companies are available for investors to by and sell directly online, comes after a complete redesign of Fund Lab, which has an improved layout and a more powerful search function. Roughly 80 per cent of the products on offer come from fund management companies outside the Credit Suisse Group.
To take advantage of the direct buying and selling of Fund Lab products over the Internet, investors need a Direct Net contract with any business unit of Credit Suisse Group in Switzerland. There is a SFr25 discount on commission for orders placed online at www.cspb.com/fundlab.
A statement from Credit Suisse Private Banking said: 'This latest development combines Fund Labs quantitative and qualitative data and the wide range of online transactions available through Direct Net. This provides added value for users and a service no other European operator currently offers.'
