The Czech Arbitration Court, which was given responsibility for creating a dispute resolution system for the new .eu top-level domain, has launched a consultation on the matter, it emerged this week.
One of the proposals put forward by the Prague-based court is for the implementation of an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) system similar to that currently operated by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).
It is hoped that such a system, if put in place, would represent a faster and cheaper alternative to court proceedings.
Comment is invited on the dispute resolution proposals until September 7, and the launch of the new domain is expected to take place by the end of the year.
