UK stockbroker, Collins Stewart announced last week that its first retail fund, the European Equity Focus Fund has outperformed the market by 16.3%, bringing in returns of 26.5% in the second quarter.
The fund, domiciled in Guernsey and listed in Dublin, was launched in April 2002, and has attracted £11 million to date.
Speaking with regard to the fund's solid performance in the second quarter of this year, its manager, Rod Sleath announced that:
'We are pleased with the performance of the fund over the quarter, and with the relative performance since launch. We continue to seek undervalued businesses, and strongly believe that a focussed, fundamental, logical approach to investment will continue to generate superior returns over the medium term.'
Collins Stewart also revealed that an FSA-recognised version of the fund, the Continental Europe Focus Fund, launched earlier this year, has returned 21.8% in its first quarter of operation.
