According to a report from the Legal Week news service, international law firm Clifford Chance is in the process of reviewing its Asian presence.
Although similar reviews, such as those which took place in the United States and Central and Eastern Europe, have resulted in the closure of several regional offices, the firm was reportedly keen to stress that closures are unlikely to occur in its Asian network.
The Asia review is, according to Legal Week, being conducted principally in order to create a three year strategy for Clifford Chance's Asian operations, with the intention of maximising profit, and adapting to the specific needs of the region. Particular emphasis is expected to be given to the firm's strategic goals with regard to the Chinese mainland.
