Reports have revealed that Citibank is forging ahead with a drive to refocus its energies on high net worth individuals (HNWI) in Hong Kong.
According to the South China Morning Post, the bank's new style branch in Causeway Bay - opened on Monday - features automated services on the ground floor, and plush offices affording wealthy customers greater privacy on the upper floors.
Danny Liu, the bank's head of consumer finance in Hong Kong, revealed that this may be the shape of things to come for other Citibank branches in the region:
'In addition to two or three new banking centres we are planning to open before the end of the year, we are also looking at our existing branches,' he told the SCMP.
