According to reports in the Chinese media, the government is considering the creation of a foreign exchange law.
The China Securities Journal, citing the Financial and Economic Committee, revealed that the drafting of the law "will start when conditions are right", but gave no indication of when this was likely to be.
This follows a call last week by the People's Bank of China for the development of foreign exchange legislation, in order to keep pace with the country's economic development, and to aid its involvement in the global economy.
