A new website offering intellectual property (IP) information and assistance was launched in China on Tuesday, according to reports in the national media.
The website, cipmun.net, was created by a group of Chinese television stations which have formed an intellectual property media association, and has the backing of the State Intellectual Property Office and the China Association for Science and Technology, a prominent non-governmental organisation (NGO).
According to Hu Yiming, general manager of the firm which designed and maintains the site, it will offer access to IP-related news, a patent data bank, and patent searches.
Separately, according to a Dow Jones Newswire report, the State Intellectual Property Office has recently announced that it will be launching an electronic patent application service on March 12.
