Cayman Shipping Registry Maintains Paris MoU 'White List' Place,

The Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI), parent organization of
the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry (CISR), has received news that the latter
has maintained its prestigious “White List” status on the Paris
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Port State Control.
According to the MACI's CEO, Mr A. Joel Walton:
“Paris is surely one of the most significant MOUs internationally, and
being on its “White List” brings well-earned global recognition
to the high standing of the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry”.
The Paris MOU consists of 27 participating maritime Administrations and covers
the waters of the European coastal States and the North Atlantic basin from
North America to Europe. Its stated mission is the elimination of the operation
of sub-standard ships through a harmonized system of Port State Control.
Paris MOU Participating Maritime Authorities include: Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada,
Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland,
Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal,
Romania, Russian Federation, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK.
The MACI has also recently attained the highly prestigious “White List”
status on the Tokyo MOU, in recognition of the quality of the fleet on its Register,
some 2,000+ vessels, ranging from yachts through bulk carriers and tankers.
Established in 1903, when George Town was first recognized as a port of Registry
by the United Kingdom, the CISR today continues to carry on Cayman’s rich
seafaring tradition around the globe.
