Cayman Leader Heads To Washington To Improve Awareness Of Financial Services

It emerged this week that Cayman's Leader of Government Business, Kurt Tibbetts is leading a group from the Cayman Islands Government to Washington, DC this week for three days of meetings to build relationships with stakeholders in agencies in the US government.

Speaking last week with regard to the trip, Mr Tibbetts announced that:

"This visit affords us a good opportunity to network with potential allies and stakeholders in an effort to build awareness and relationships with US officials as it relates to Cayman's financial services industry."

Accompanying Mr Tibbetts on the networking trip - which commenced on Monday and will run until tomorrow - are the Minister responsible for International Financial Services Policy, Alden McLaughlin; Attorney General, Samuel Bulgin; Financial Secretary, Kenneth Jefferson; Deputy Financial Secretary (Financial Services) Deborah Drummond; Cayman Islands Monetary Authority General Counse,l Langston Sibblies and Deputy Managing Director, Patrick Bodden.

The delegation will be supported by Director of Public Relations for the Portfolio of Finance & Economics, Ted Bravakis.

The delegation is expected to meet with representatives from various US agencies, including the Senate Committee on Finance, Senate Committee on Banking, House Ways and Means Committee, Department of the Treasury, and the US Trade representative.
