Representatives of the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry (CISR), a division of the Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI), have attended the annual Monaco yacht show, which ran between September 24-27.
The CISR is the leader in the registration of mega-yachts and the show featured numerous examples of the world’s most luxurious and spectacular private yachts, many of which flew the Cayman maritime flag.
Sharing booth space with the CISR team were representatives of the Cayman Islands Civil Aviation Authority, in an initiative to attract aircraft registrations. Cayman is a popular register of choice for aircraft as well as marine vessels.
The CISR, in order to best serve its worldwide client base, has been undergoing significant global expansion over the last several years, and now has offices/representatives in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, the European Regional Office in Southampton, and a representative in London.
This year saw the opening of a Mediterranean office in Cannes, and there is CISR representation in Athens, Greece. Additionally, there are three CISR Asian representatives, located in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Speaking prior to the show, MACI’s CEO, Mr. A. Joel Walton commented: "The Cayman Islands Shipping Registry has strategically positioned itself on a global basis to ensure 24/7 coverage of the needs of its worldwide clients in the maritime industry."
He added: "As a result of our valued client services and the maintenance of long-term relationships, we have become a pre-eminent flag of choice. For this reason, it is imperative that we attend exhibitions such as the Monaco Yacht Show to be able to personally visit so many of our clients who will be in attendance and to further promote the prestigious Red Ensign of the Cayman Islands," Mr Walton concluded.
