The Cayman Leader of Government Business and the Minister of Tourism, Environment, Development and Commerce, the Hon McKeeva Bush has reportedly identified several candidates for the job of running the Hong Kong office of the Cayman Islands Investment Bureau.
According Cayman Net News, one of the candidates under consideration for the post of leading the new Investment Bureau office is William Conolly, the former General Manager of the Grand Caymanian, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing at the Hyatt Regency, Grand Cayman.
The new offices, acquired in April and now fully kitted out, are currently lying dormant.
Mr Bush, who is expected to attend the offices' opening ceremony in September, indicated that an experienced Hong Kong manager should also assist the office for a period of six months to one year after it opens to help it through the transitionary period.
The primary function of the Hong Kong office of the Bureau will be to promote the Cayman Island’s financial services industry. However, it is anticipated that the tourist industry may also be promoted through the bureau’s office in the future.
