British citizens who are residents in the Cayman Islands are advised that the new application forms on which to register as overseas voters are now available from the Governor's Office.
The forms reflect the recent changes in UK legislation governing the registration of overseas electors. Under the new system, British citizens may register to vote either by proxy or by postal ballot. UK nationals can also apply for registration at any time during the year and the application form can now be countersigned by any British citizen whether personally known to the applicant or not.
People wishing to apply may call the Governor's Office on 244-2434.
