The Cayman Islands Investment Bureau (CIIB) is inviting local investors and entrepreneurs to a 14th July meeting to discuss the formation of an Angel Investor Network for the Cayman Islands.
Interested businesspeople are invited to attend to discuss aspects such as the structure of the organization, membership criteria, and the investment process.
An angel investor network is an organization of established businesspeople that mentor and provide capital to small businesses, especially those that local loan establishments consider too risky. Such businesspeople are often keenly interested in facilitating the development of small businesses which will benefit the local economy. They inject start-up capital into the businesses and are also available to offer advice and to put new entrepreneurs in contact with other experts.
Angel investor networks are very active in North America, Europe, and Canada, and have aided numerous budding ventures that contribute to their respective economies.
“A formal organization of angel investors offers several benefits,” commented Executive Director of the CIIB, Dax Basdeo.
“Members can work collectively to better evaluate a venture, and awareness of the programme will expose the network to a broader range of opportunities for local investment," he added.
Investors interested in attending the meeting are asked to contact the Cayman Islands Investment Bureau to register.
