The Cayman government has relaxed rules governing work permits to allow non-Caymanians between employment to remain in the country under the terms of the Emergency Powers Act.
Under the new rules, individuals who were legally resident in the Cayman Islands on 10 September will be entitled to work for any employer other than their original employers, providing that their original employers consent in writing.
The government has announced that it is providing a simple form allowing employers to apply for a Temporary Work Permit that asks for the name and passport numbers of the prospective employee, occupation, and reason for their seeking short term employment.
