It was announced this week that the Cayman Islands Bankers' Association has presented its report on e-commerce development to the government's E-Business Advisory Board.
The Board requested the report in order to gain a better understanding of the role of e-business for the banking sector in particular and business in general, and the CIBA has welcomed the opportunity to be able to contribute:
'We're very pleased to be playing a role in helping to shape the infrastructure needed to develop e-business in the Cayman Islands,' Eric Crutchley, President of the bankers' Association announced this week. He added that: 'We are and will always be, committed to the development of the financial industry and the economy as a whole.'
The report, which will be reviewed later this month by Hon. Linford Pierson, the Cayman Information Technology Minister, features feedback from banking professionals from various banks located in the jurisdiction, including the Cayman National Bank, the Bank of Butterfield, and Bank Austria. International consulting firm Deloitte and Touche also contributed.
