The Canadian High Commissioner to the UK, James Wright, on Wednesday began a two-day official visit to Jersey – the first to the Island since he took up his post in August 2006.
The High Commissioner is meeting with the Deputy Bailiff, Michael Birt during his visit, and will be briefed on Jersey's international relations by the Chief Minister, Senator Frank Walker, and senior officials.
Welcoming the High Commissioner’s visit, Senator Walker observed that: “Jersey has longstanding historical and economic links with Canada and we are keen that these continue to develop and prosper in the future.”
