Cable and Wireless St Kitts and Nevis Limited, has become the eleventh equity to be listed on the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange (ECSE).

At a listing ceremony held at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium in the ECCB Headquarters on 30th January, representatives of the company’s Board and Management, and a wide cross-section of its shareholders and staff, joined officials of the ECSE and the Eastern Caribbean Securities Regulatory Commission, the ECCB, and specially invited guests and the media to mark the occasion.

“After 7 years of courtship, the marriage has finally taken place,” remarked General Manager of the ECSE, Trevor Blake, at the listing ceremony.

Last week's listing was the first by a C&W business in the region, but John Boyles, Chairman of C&WSKN, believes that other C&W operations in the Eastern Caribbean could now follow suit and list on the Exchange.

“Today’s listing on the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange is both historic and unique as it represents not only the first listing of a Cable & Wireless business in the Eastern Caribbean, but the listing of the only Cable & Wireless business with public shareholding in the Eastern Caribbean," he observed.

The shares of the company, which are trading under the symbol CWKN, have been available for trading on the market since Thursday 31st January. A copy of the company’s research report, and an assessment of its operations and financial performance prepared by the Bank of St Lucia Ltd, has been placed on the ECSE’s website, and can also be obtained from licensed broker-dealers in the ECSE’s intermediaries network.
