International offshore law firm, Conyers Dill & Pearman is celebrating 20 years of establishment in Hong Kong, it emerged this week.
In a statement released to coincide with the anniversary, CD&P explained that:
"A significant proportion of companies on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange are Bermuda companies, while Cayman Islands companies represent approximately 70% of the Growth Enterprise Market of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. British Virgin Islands (BVI) companies are now the second largest source of foreign investment in China."
"Fortunately Conyers Dill & Pearman (CD&P), the international offshore law firm, saw much of this coming over two decades ago while the territory of Hong Kong was still leased to Britain."
Since its inception in June 1985, the Hong Kong office has become the largest of CD&P's international operations, with three partners, 11 lawyers, and 35 support staff.
