The Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies – Ireland (CCAB-I) has announced this week that it has met with the country's Department of Finance in the context of its pre-Budget Submission.
Representatives from the CCAB-I highlighted three key areas during the meeting:
Chairman of CCAB-I Tax Committee South, Mr Liam Lynch commented:
“Our perspective on these issues stems from the clear evidence that tax policy is certainly among the most influential drivers of business behaviour. The details of all our proposals are informed by the practical experience of our members who provide taxation advice and services.”
The representatives were also keen to point out that they recognised the realities of the difficult economic environment, and therefore have placed particular emphasis on measures which are revenue neutral in terms of their impact on the Exchequer, but which will provide real economic stimulus.
