On Wednesday, GuernseyFinance revealed that it has a busy few months coming up, and gave details of the various initiatives that it has undertaken since the beginning of the year.

The promotional body for the Island's finance sector announced that it has been at the forefront of a number of major industry conferences and exhibitions including the STEP Arabia conference organised by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, which took place earlier this year, GAIM 2005 - the annual global alternative investment management conference in Lausanne, the Association of Insurance and Risk Managers (AIRMIC) annual conference, which was held in Brighton in June and the Funds Forum 2005, which took place in Monaco in July.

Chief executive for GuernseyFinance, Peter Niven observed that:

"Guernsey is continuing to grow as a financial centre, as recent figures show, and is increasing its profile as a centre of excellence for a wide range of services."

The second half of the year is looking just as busy, GuernseyFinance revealed.

Represenatives from the agency will be attending the International Investment Channel Islands Forum 2005, jointly sponsored by GuernseyFinance and Jersey Finance, the STEP Symposium in London and Annual Autumn Tax Update in Leeds, the Federation of European Risk Management Associations Conference in Lisbon, the Guernsey Insurance Forum 2005, and the GAIM Invest & Fund of Funds 2005 Conference in Geneva.
