Businesses in Pakistan have urged the country's government to delay upcoming tax audits in light of the global recession.
According to the Pakistan's business community, the current economic downturn has significantly impacted upon their profitability.
The government is now being urged by the business community to consider delaying tax audits, particularly for firms that have already been audited within the last two years, until the recession has eased.
In addition to this, the business community has also raised the issue of a bailout package, arguing that they would be better equipped to deal with the effects of the recession if the government implemented similar support measures to the ones recently introduced in China, Japan and the US.
