A number of private bankers from some high profile offshore banks attended a seminar in the Bahamian capital last week with a particular focus on emerging market fixed income.
The seminar was directed by Bloomberg representative Jenny Schlesinger - based in Bloomberg's New York office, who gave the bankers an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Bloomberg market information toll, which is used extensively around the world, and also provides accurate information on emerging fixed income markets.
The Bloomberg-led seminars are a regular feature in the Bahamas and are usually held at six weekly intervals. The previous talk focused on the mutual fund sector.
Bloomberg was founded in 1981 by the now New York mayor Michael Bloomberg. The firm has a substantial presence in 126 countries, spread across the globe.
