Vietnam's State Securities Commission announced at the weekend that the so-called 'Big Four' accounting firms have been granted permission to audit securities issuers, securities businesses, and listed companies in the country.
Ernst & Young Vietnam, Grant Thornton Vietnam, PricewaterhouseCoopers Vietnam and KPMG were reportedly selected from a group of 28 firms which met the government's charter capital and other requirements.
According to the official Vietnam News Agency, decisions on such permissions are made by the State Securities Commission on an annual basis.
