Bermuda will have a strong presence in the Santa Rosa mountains in California next week as the largest ever conference on captive insurance gets underway.
Two dozen executives from the Bermuda insurance industry will attend the Annual Conference of the Captive Insurance Companies Association, Inc. The conference runs from March 11 to 13 and will host a record 330 delegates this year.
According to industry spokesman David Fox, the annual conference has always had special significance for the local captive industry because more than half the companies in attendance actually have a captive based here.
Representatives from the Bermuda Insurance Management Association, a local law firm and two accounting firms will sit on a special Bermuda panel to provide insight into the captive insurance experience during a focus on individual domiciles.
